Bored Pilot posts in KOWB, KSNA,
BoredPilot

Flying a slick plane is great but while when you get on the ground in KOWB- "Owensboro-daviess County" Owensboro, KY... KSNA- "John Wayne" Santa Ana, CA...

While talking over what to do with your crew members in Owensboro, KY (KOWB), there was a post that may help if you were interested in getting some grub " Moonlight barbecue, internationally famous. Just ask the friendly folks at the MidAmericaJet FBO for the crew car or call moonlight and they will come pick you up and drop you off. "

Before you decide what to do in Santa Ana, CA (KSNA), it has been said getting a bite to eat " At at Gulliver's Restaurant right by the airport. Pretty pricy dinner but VERY good prime rib in such large portions I could eat just about 3/4 of it. Really good! "

Bored Pilot posts in KMDW, KAQO, KOWB, KSNA,
BoredPilot

Long gone are the days of $100 Hamburgers but in KMDW- "Chicago Midway Intl" Chicago, IL... KAQO- "Llano Muni" Llano, TX... KOWB- "Owensboro-daviess County" Owensboro, KY... KSNA- "John Wayne" Santa Ana, CA...

Is the crew lounge full of NetJet pilots and Flight Option pilots? Check out whats in Chicago, IL (KMDW), you may want to know for your treating yourself for another safe flight and get some food " Sushi Thaime (www.sushi thaime.com)is not far from the MDW hotel "compound". West 95th in Oaklawn. about 10 min from airport via car. Good sushi if you have an overnight. I have a personal policy to not eat sushi if I don't have a long overnight for obvious reasons. "

Before you make your plans in Llano, TX (KAQO), there was a post that may help if you were interested in stopping studying for your next PPE and head out to get food " Cooper's bbq is usually why people come to Llano but the real deal is Inman's Kitchen. Great food and great people "

Before you head out of the FBO door in Owensboro, KY (KOWB), A Bored Pilot has posted that if it crossed your mind about filling your craving for some food " Moonlight barbecue, internationally famous. Just ask the friendly folks at the MidAmericaJet FBO for the crew car or call moonlight and they will come pick you up and drop you off. "

After getting the local guide from the FBO line service see what else there is in Santa Ana, CA (KSNA), you may want to consider what one Pilot had to say about letting the captain of the plane buy the crew some food at " At at Gulliver's Restaurant ! right by the airport. Pretty pricy dinner but VERY good prime rib in such large portions I could eat just about 3/4 of it. Really good! "

Bored Pilot posts in KHEF, KCAE,
BoredPilot

Tired of surfing for hours on www.flightaware.com, www.flightplan.com, www.airnav.com, www.landings.com, www.100dollarhamburger.com, www.bestaviationsites.com, www.thirtythousandfeet.com, and www.airliners.net? They are all good sites but www.BoredPilot.com invites you to step outside the FBO in KHEF- "Manassas Regional" Manassas, VA... KCAE- "Columbia Metropolitan" Columbia, SC...

Before you decide what to do in Manassas, VA (KHEF), you may want to know for your somthing else, it isn't completely void " " USMC IFS and nothing else... "

Before you decide what to do in Columbia, SC (KCAE), the pilots union voted and you should know about getting a bite to eat " I have to mention Lizards Thicket. Good country cookin with sweet tea. "Meat and 3" type of place. The crew cars probably know the 5 min ride by heart - if no crew cars then the line guys will give you a ride and come back and get you. About $6 pp or less "

Bored Pilot posts in KFLL, KMKE, KUIN,
BoredPilot

Some Bored Pilots out there have stumbled upon some great local activities. So after you check out the new posts on www.WillFlyForFood.com check out these airport activities KFLL- "Hollywood Int'l" Ft Lauderdale, FL... KMKE- "Mitchell Field Int'l" Milwaukee, WI... KUIN- "Quincy Municipal" Quincy, IL...

Before you head out of the FBO door in Ft Lauderdale, FL (KFLL), A crew member mentioned that if you were into before, "bring a good aviation magazine, there are no current acitivies..." since it may not have been much before. But now you can know what another has said " " I stay at the Hampton about 1 minute from Airport, I use Jetscape FBO that is great and if you use UV Air is the cheapest fuel around, the bad part is they dont take any other contract fuel. There is a mall in the corner of 12th AVE SW and 34th Street, the pizza place there is great, one of the best pizzas around, any FBO will drive you there is a very short drive. "

Before you decide what to do in Milwaukee, WI (KMKE), ATC won't tell you about it but another pilot mentioned something about making some time while on the layover to get a bite " Amelia's is across the street from Signature and has excellent food! "

Before you make your plans in Quincy, IL (KUIN), A Bored Pilot has posted that if it crossed your mind about stopping studying for your next PPE and head out to get food " Mi Jalopeno's...the best mexican within 200 miles! "

Bored Pilot posts in KBWI, KMEI, KALB, KHYA, 06C,
BoredPilot

Even pilots for Delta or United may enjoy the posts for KBWI- "Baltimore-washington Intl" Baltimore, MD... KMEI- "Key Field" Meridian, MS... KALB- "Albany Intl" Albany, NY... KHYA- "Barnstable Municipal" Hyannis, MA... 06C- "Schaumburg Regional" Schaumburg, IL...

Before you even land you can already be thinking about Baltimore, MD (KBWI), 5 out of 3 pilots here agreed about what the FBO was like " Signatue will lend you a mountain bike and there is a trail that goes around the airport, it is about 11 miles long. If you have a longer layover you can actually take the trail to Annapolis. Goto http://www.bikewashington.org/routes/bwi/index.htm to look at the map and get more info. "

While talking over what to do with your crew members in Meridian, MS (KMEI), ATC won't tell you about it but another pilot mentioned something about trying to forget that last landing with the 30 kt gust and get some food " Food--Deli on Fifth downtown, great sandwiches and soups, to die for deserts. "

Before you make your plans in Albany, NY (KALB), it has been said treating yourself for another safe flight and get some food " TAKE THE CREW CAR AND GO TO THE WOLF RD DINER. "

Before you head out of the FBO door in Hyannis, MA (KHYA), you may want to consider what one Pilot had to say about assuming you won't be in the the Ritz in Manhattan but wanting to know the local hotel status " The Raddison is a pretty nice place with an Excellent fitness center attached..its free to guests. Bistro has good food but is closed for lunch. "

! Before you decide what to do in Schaumburg, IL (06C), one pilot has mentioned that if you were interested in grabbing the latest copy of Aviation Week and get some food " Pilot Petes! Best food, and good looking hostesses. "

I am a corporate pilot and after years of flying for the airlines and for the corporate world I decided to create this free site to help us all out. I was tired of wasting away while sitting in the crew rooms watching CNN. I often heard of great activities in certain cities just 10 minutes from the airport but unfortunately I always heard of them the day after I was there. Now we can share our finds and help out the next pilot and also refresh our minds of what we have found in our travels.
