Don't just let the FBO desk send you anywhere in Jeffersonville, IN (KJVY), there was a post that may help if you were interested in somthing else, it isn't completely void " " Visit the falls of the ohio. There's an interpretive center and, when the Ohio river is low, stretches of fossil beds with easily seen fossils. Take water on a hot day. You could spend a few minutes or hike for several hours on the fossil beds. About 5 miles south on I65 on the IN bank of the Ohio at Jeffersonville. Near several really good restaurants, too. "

Before you decide what to do in Tarkio, MO (K57), one pilot has mentioned that if you were interested in trying to forget that last landing with the 30 kt gust and get some food " some guy named randy saw me at the airport and took me into town. there are 2 bar/restaurants in town. we drove past the first one, and good thing... it looked nasty. the 2nd was was your typical friendly small town rural bar. we got some food and they had karaoke. not a big town, but very friendly. "

While making your plans in Arlington, TX (KGKY), you may want to consider what one Pilot had to say about the facilities for your wait " Harrison has a monopoly here. The city is building a new terminal though, so hopefully that'll help things. Self Serve is on the FAR south end of the field. Much cheap! er! "

Before you head out of the FBO door in Lafayette, LA (KLFT), A Bored Pilot has posted that if it crossed your mind about before, "bring a good aviation magazine, there are no current acitivies..." since it may not have been much before. "

A chain of 20 restaurant's, about 5 miles from AGC. Worth the drive. Expect good food AND good service. "

If you drive north towards foley you'll find Lambert's the Home of the Throwed Role. Bring your appetite to Lamberts because you won't be leaving to run a martathon afterwards, they feed you. "

Wouldn't go back if was the last place to eat - Very long wait at dinner too. "

Just ask the friendly folks at the MidAmericaJet FBO for the crew car or call moonlight and they will come pick you up and drop you off. "

Before you decide what to do in Santa Ana, CA (KSNA), it has been said getting a bite to eat " At at Gulliver's Restaurant right by the airport. Pretty pricy dinner but VERY good prime rib in such large portions I could eat just about 3/4 of it. Really good! "

West 95th in Oaklawn. about 10 min from airport via car. Good sushi if you have an overnight. I have a personal policy to not eat sushi if I don't have a long overnight for obvious reasons. "

Before you head out of the FBO door in Ft Lauderdale, FL (KFLL), A crew member mentioned that if you were into before, "bring a good aviation magazine, there are no current acitivies..." since it may not have been much before. But now you can know what another has said " " I stay at the Hampton about 1 minute from Airport, I use Jetscape FBO that is great and if you use UV Air is the cheapest fuel around, the bad part is they dont take any other contract fuel. There is a mall in the corner of 12th AVE SW and 34th Street, the pizza place there is great, one of the best pizzas around, any FBO will drive you there is a very short drive. "

Before you decide what to do in Milwaukee, WI (KMKE), ATC won't tell you about it but another pilot mentioned something about making some time while on the layover to get a bite " Amelia's is across the street from Signature and has excellent food! "

Before you even land you can already be thinking about Baltimore, MD (KBWI), 5 out of 3 pilots here agreed about stopping worrying about jet fuel prices and get some grub at " Signature sent us to Mo's Seafood about 10 min away. It was about $25 a person and not the best I have had. I would probably not go back. Crab legs were good but expensive. "

Before you even land you can already be thinking about Newport News, VA (KPHF), you may want to know for your the FBO before you go and " Rick Aviation did a great job. Good service, low ramp fees, good fuel price. They gave a us a ride to lunch because the crew car was out. 2 thumbs up "

I have finally got around to fixing a few bugs on the site. You can now vote again on a post to agree or disagree with the content listed on what to do on an overnight or during a layover. If you didn't experience the same as the previous pilot then feel free to vote against.

I also fixed the 'flag as spam' and now you can flag something if it doesn't conform or contribute to the site's content to provide us pilots with information of what to do when we are board.

If anyone has any other bugs that are seen, please let me know via email.

Before you make your plans in Dallas, TX (KDAL), 5 out of 3 pilots here agreed about other things to offer " " Great country bar with live band and DJ is about5 minutes from here. I think it is called Cowboys at Red River. Even if you dont like country music, definitely a great place to go... "

Think it over before you head out in Baltimore, MD (KBWI), one pilot has mentioned that if you were interested in the facilities at the airport " Signatue will lend you a mountain bike and there is a trail that goes around the airport, it is about 11 miles long. This past week a board pilot escaped from the grips of CNN and after all the flight plans were filed on www.fltplan.com they explored the area around KMEI- "Key Field" Meridian, MS... KPPA- "Perry Lefors Field" Pampa, TX... KGYI- "Grayson County" Sherman-denison, TX...

While talking over what to do with your crew members in Meridian, MS (KMEI), there was a post that may help if you were interested in saving the the aircraft catering for later and eat " Nick & Al's on 19 North, Good fast Italian. "

Is the crew lounge full of NetJet pilots and Flight Option pilots? Check out whats in Pampa, TX (KPPA), A crew member mentioned that if you were into stopping studying for your next PPE and head out to get food " Texas Rose Steakhouse. I always order the either the medium ribeye or the angus salad. Both are very good. Burgers are really good there as well. -bhaiduk "

Before you make your plans in Sherman-denison, TX (KGYI), the pilots union voted and you should know about treating yourself for another safe flight and get some food " A great food and drink location is Cellarman's Pub. Awesome oyster appetizers and really good Pizza. Not a franchise but a local hole in the wall. Great selection of Beer. It is a bit smokey for non-smokers but you can sit outside for better air. Before you make your plans in New Orleans, LA (KNEW), 5 out of 3 pilots here agreed about somthing else, it isn't completely void " " Always something to do on Bourbon St. Come on, it's New Orleans! "

We all know layovers can be about as fun as counting dust bunnies on the pilots lounge TV but if you can keep from being board in KHGR- "Hagerstown Rgnl" Hagerstown, MD... KRIC- "Richmond International" Richmond, VA... KMEI- "Key Field" Meridian, MS... KJKA- "Jack Edwards" Gulf Shores, AL...

Before you head out of the FBO door in Hagerstown, MD (KHGR), you may want to consider what one Pilot had to say about the FBO " Rider Jet Center has an amazing facility with huge flat screen displays. Great snooze rooms and comfortable recliners. Nap away my friends. "

Before you decide what to do in Richmond, VA (KRIC), A crew member mentioned that if you were into somthing else, it isn't completely void " " If you have a few hours to kill, park at Aero Industries FBO and borrow their crew car (FREE for 1.5 hrs). Drive half-mile to the new Arby's Hot Bar (yes, I said Arby's) and try something HEALTHY for a change. Then drive half-mile back to airport and visit the Virginia Aviation Museum. It's a great way to burn an hour or so for only $5. "

Think it over before you head out in Meridian, MS (KMEI), ATC won't tell you about it but another pilot mentioned something about other things to offer " " stay at the holiday inn. they have a free happy hour, all beer is free, plus two mixed drinks. "

They have a brand new FBO with a shade canopy that extends from the FBO as well as a state of the art movie theater made for us pilots who like TV. The also great crew car not some stupid mini van like the other guys! If you are flying to Lake Havasu Havasu Air Center is the place to go! "

Think it over before you head out in Jacksonville, NC (KNCA), you may want to know for your getting some grub " Head south for all things. Wilmington is south about 45 min. on Hwy 17. Run away from Jacksonville. "

After doing your post-flight on your Hawker 900 or Falcon 2000 take time in KLOU- "Bowman Field" Louisville, KY... KMSN- "Dane County Regional" Madison, WI...

Check out whats in Louisville, KY (KLOU), you may want to know for your the current acitivies and since it may not have been much before but now you can know what another has said " " Lots of shops off I-65N, Exit 5 in Clarksville (about 10 min from downtown Louisville) "

Before you make your plans in Madison, WI (KMSN), 5 out of 3 pilots here agreed about stopping worrying about jet fuel prices and get some grub at " If the Jet Room restaurant in the GA terminal is closed, get a courtesy car from the front desk. Go straight out the entrance road and turn right (south). Go a couple of miles to the big intersection (5 or so lanes each way at the light) and take a right onto E. Washington Ave/US 151 South. After about a mile and a half, you'll see a big carousel on the right, that is Ella's Deli (2902 E. Washington Ave). I don't know how to describe it exactly, but the menu is huge and be sure you bring along the kid in you. :) "
